Mitchell Dorrell acquired his B.S. in physics from Rowan University and his Ph.D. in physics from University of Delaware. Part of his doctoral research was conducted under the Graduate Partnership Program at the National Institutes of Health, where he developed new algorithms for computational small-angle neutron scattering. He continued volunteering at the NIH until he joined the Support for Scientific Applications group at PSC in July 2021. His primary roles now include addressing support requests, deploying scientific software, processing and organizing molecular dynamics trajectories from the Anton system (https://wp-dev.psc.edu/resources/anton-2), and developing HPN-SSH (https://wp-dev.psc.edu/hpn-ssh-home/).
